Discover the vibrant city of Nairobi in a full-day guided tour blending wildlife encounters, cultural history, art, and shopping. From feeding giraffes to learning about colonial life, supporting women artisans, and exploring city landmarks, this tour is perfect for travellers with limited time who still want to experience the very best of Kenya’s capital.
Your guide will pick you up at 8:00 AM from your hotel, residence, or JKIA airport. The day begins at the Giraffe Centre, where you can hand-feed the endangered Rothschild giraffes and take photos as you learn about their conservation.
You head to the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage, open to the public from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, to watch baby elephants being fed and splashing in the mud. You’ll also hear about anti-poaching and wildlife rescue efforts.
By midday, you arrive at the Karen Blixen Museum, the preserved home of the world-famous author of Out of Africa. Here, you’ll learn about Kenya’s colonial history and coffee farming culture.
Enjoy a sumptuous buffet lunch at Carnivore Restaurant, offering both continental and Kenyan cuisine in a lush garden setting, with occasional live music and cultural displays.
The afternoon takes you to the Kazuri Beads Factory, where women artisans craft ceramic beads and pottery. This stop is perfect for supporting a women’s cooperative and picking up authentic souvenirs.
Finally, you may choose between a visit to the Nairobi National Museum or a City Landmarks Drive that takes you through Nairobi’s CBD to see the Parliament Buildings, Kenyatta Mausoleum, Uhuru Park, and the Railway Museum.
Your day concludes around 4:45 PM with a drop-off at your hotel or JKIA, arriving by approximately 5:30 PM, depending on traffic.
